Sending documents
Fix a signer's email or replace a signer
Fix a mistyped name or email, or send the request to someone else.
If a SignQuick request went to the wrong email or person, fix it on the pending document with Correct details or Replace signer.
Who can use this feature?
- Who can do it
- An Owner, an Admin or the person who sent the document. Replace signer also needs permission to send documents.
- Before you start
- The document is Pending and hasn't expired.
- To change an email or replace someone, that signer hasn't accepted the disclosure on the signing page yet. No other signer has signed or declined.
- Replace signer isn't available for bulk-send documents, document packets or in-person signers. On bulk-send documents, only the name can be corrected.
Fix a name or email
Correcting a signer's details doesn't change the document itself.
- Step 1: In the sidebar, select Documents.
- Step 2: Open the pending document.
- Step 3: In the signer's row, select Correct details.
- Step 4: Edit the Name or Email.
- Step 5: Select Save and send new link if you changed the email, or Save if you changed only the name.
Result: SignQuick confirms the change and lists it under Corrections. A new email stops the old link and sends a new invitation, now or on that signer's turn. A name-only fix keeps the same link.
Replace the signer
- Step 1: In the sidebar, select Documents.
- Step 2: Open the pending document.
- Step 3: In the signer's row, select Replace signer.
- Step 4: In Replace this signer?, select Continue.
- Step 5: Enter the new signer's Name and Email.
- Step 6: Optionally, enter a Reason (optional); SignQuick records it in the audit trail.
- Step 7: Select Replace signer.
Result: SignQuick shows Signer replaced. The old link stops working, and the new signer gets an invitation now or when their turn comes.
Common questions
What if the signer already opened the document?
Opening it alone doesn't block a fix. If they already accepted the disclosure, you can still fix their name, but not their email, and you can't replace them. Void the document and send a new one, as "Void a document you sent" explains.
A signer says they're the wrong person. What now?
If they selected I'm not the right person to sign this, the document page shows their request and any suggested replacement. Select Replace signer there, then follow the steps to replace the signer.
What if a signer declined?
The document shows Declined, and the Activity Timeline shows who declined. A declined document can't be corrected or reopened. Start a new document to collect signatures.
