Import or export contacts with a CSV file

Add or update many contacts at once from a CSV file, or download your address book.

In SignQuick Contacts, Import CSV adds or updates up to 500 contacts from a UTF-8 file, and Export CSV downloads your address book.

Who can use this feature?

Plans
All plans. Free keeps up to 25 contacts, Pro up to 500, and Team has no contact limit. Only new contacts count toward the limit.
Who can do it
You need contact management access. All active members have it unless the Owner limits Who can manage contacts.
Before you start
  • A UTF-8 CSV file with a header row, name and email columns, and 1 to 500 contact rows. The file can be up to 1 mebibyte (1 MiB, about 1 MB).

Import contacts from a CSV file

Name the columns in English: name or full name, and email or email address. Optional columns are company or organization, and phone or phone number. SignQuick doesn't import a notes column.

UTF-8 is a standard way to save text, including accented letters such as é and ñ. If the file isn't valid UTF-8, SignQuick shows We could not read this UTF-8 CSV. Choose a valid file.

  1. Step 1: In the sidebar, select Contacts.
  2. Step 2: Select Import CSV.
  3. Step 3: Under Choose file, select your CSV file.
  4. Step 4: Select Review changes.
  5. Step 5: Check the preview: each row shows New contact or Existing contact, and a summary counts the new, updated and unchanged contacts.
  6. Step 6: Select Confirm import.

Result: SignQuick shows Import Complete with how many contacts were created, updated and left unchanged. Select View Contacts to see them.

Export your contacts

An export holds up to 5,000 contacts. For a larger list, SignQuick shows an error, so reduce the list before you export.

  1. Step 1: In the sidebar, select Contacts.
  2. Step 2: Select Export CSV.

Result: Your browser downloads signquick-contacts.csv with name, email, company, phone and notes columns.

Common questions

Why did SignQuick reject my CSV file?

SignQuick checks the whole file before it shows the preview. If a record has a problem, such as a missing email or an email repeated with different details, SignQuick names that record. Identical duplicate rows are combined into one. Fix the file, select Choose another file and choose it again.

What happens to contacts that already exist?

A row whose email matches a saved contact updates that contact. If you leave out the company or phone column, the saved value stays; an empty cell clears it. Nothing changes until you select Confirm import.

Is this the same CSV as Bulk Send?

No. A contacts CSV only saves people in Contacts. A Bulk Send CSV creates signature requests and uses other columns, listed in "Bulk Send CSV file format".
